I love thinking back to what I was doing this time 16 years ago. Phemie was making her way into the world and come to think of it, I was doing a pretty great job of helping her get there. I also love indulging in sentimentality, not in a miserable way but in a reflective and grateful way. What a happy baby she was and what a beautiful person she has grown into. I'm often just blown away with how at peace she seems to be, dealing with the bumps of adolecence with a maturity and wisdom beyond her years. She is definately her father's daughter when it comes to calmness and kindness but I like to think we make each other laugh and that has been a great foundation for a relationship I feel so lucky to have with her.
She will never let me give a speech so I guess this blog is where I can say how remarkable I think you are Phemie and how wonderful it is to watch you take on life, initially with gentle steps, making soft little impressions with every footprint to now being someone who makes the most of opportunities and who never wants to waste a sunny day. Happy Birthday my lovely girl. xx

MY MEMORIES OF AMERICA
I have so many memories of living in America the list is endless. But I will begin with saying my fondness memory of America is and will always be our trips to Disneyland!
CALIFORNIA PARK, DISNEYLAND |
Disneyland is the happiest place on earth (not particularly when there's five children and and especially this year because I had a infected toe) but apart from those little challenges Disneyland is my favourite place because what's better than full turkey legs, roller coasters and fairy floss? My favourite ride at Disneyland is defiantly the one where you sit in this eight seater round tube thing that has this tall seats and it a water ride so don't expect to be the inch bit dry at the end. You go down these huge drops and get so wet. It so fun that we go on about four times until we are dripping.
Even though Australia is the land of Vegemite, kangaroos, koalas and don't forget Australian slang. America also has some amazing treasures including the delicious New York hot dog, the tall beautiful Statue of Liberty (which I have seen) and once again Disneyland.
School in America was amazing I made so many new friends that even though I haven't been very good at keeping in touch with are still my friends and I try to write to them at least once a year.
I hope I get to go back to America and revisit all my favourite places. I love America and it will always be my favourite country.

Puppy
Yesterday we went and picked up our little Irish Terrier from Melbourne airport. We got lost a few times at the airport but we finally found him at the Australia Air Express where he was locked up in a little cage. As as soon as I saw the little cage I new it was him. We took him to the car park where we had parked our car and let him have a little run around. At first it was hard getting him to settle down in the car especially seating on my lap, but he settled down (eventually) and slept for about an hour. He was running around all yesterday and its about 9.45 and his already been out four times. He's sweet and loving and he is also adorable.

The day before the dog
Tommorow we get our Irish Terrier puppy (above). I am so excited especially because it means I won't get jealous every time I go into a pet store and also because he's going to be so adorable. This is the second time I have had a dog, the first time I had a girl Bull Mastif cross named Daphne. This time were getting a boy and hoping to call it Russell (well thats at least what everyone else wants to call it). Were at our farm so we will go and pick it up from the airport them bring it bach here. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
